With the loss of the domestic cut-to-frequency crystal suppliers, it has become difficult to generate the stable frequency source required for an older AM transmitter that relies on a crystal instead of a synthesized source. MP&A stepped into this gap with our TCXO replacement board, which can be powered from any DC voltage (even unregulated) from +12 to +35V, and puts out a 5V pk-pk square wave (or optional 12V) into 50 Ohms. The whole thing is literally the size of a business card!
We offer two versions: one is programmed in advance to your frequency and cannot be changed, and the other is frequency-agile in 1 kHz steps across the AM band. (Note: supply is limited on these due to a part being declared obsolete; we suggest you buy a programmed-in-advance version unless you know you will need to change the frequency in the future.)
Either version can be mounted on our retrofit oscillator board that drops into the Harris SX and Gates series transmitters, or can easily be retrofitted into any modern transmitter by a competent engineer.
