Harris SX/Gates series PA board

MP&A is excited to offer PA boards for these excellent transmitters, which are essentially copies of the originals. Our board uses the plastic case IRF350 FETs, which are still readily available, and are drop-in replacements for the originals.

Note: boards using plastic and metal case IRF350 FETs cannot be used together in a 2.5 or 5 kW transmitter, as they have just enough different group delay characteristics to make the RF phasing wrong, which makes both old and new PA boards prone to failure. If your transmitter uses the older metal-case FETs, you will have to upgrade all the PA boards to the plastic case types at one time. This obviously does not apply to the SX or Gates 1 transmitter types, as those use only one PA board! However, in any transmitter, the RF drive level should be measured and may have to be adjusted when upgrading to plastic FET boards.

Cost: $1900 each, $3500 for two (for a 2.5 kW TX); $6000 for a set of four (for a 5 kW TX)
