MP&A has developed a drop-in retrofit for the PDM amplifier Harris used in the SX/Gates series AM transmitters which uses modern plastic-case FETs and damper diode, since the original TO-3 metal case devices have become seriously unobtainium. This is the only PC board out of an SX or a Gates series that Harris never made a plastic-case FET version of, so we stepped into that gap, once again.

Our amp assembly mounts and connects just the same as the original, but utilizes, in addition to the modern FETs, modern FET driver ICs and a more robust power supply design utilizing separately fused supplies for each section of the amp.

MP&A makes a pull-up board for the SX and Gates series transmitter PDM amplifiers. You can buy one separately, or, if you buy a new PDM amp, you have the option of buying it with a pull-up board mounted and tested.

We also sell a kit that allows you to upgrade your old non-fused pull-up boards used in early models of the SX series. The kit comes with a fused pull-up board, all the hardware needed to install it, and detailed instructions on the procedure.
